Wanda Baez, Arts and Civic Engagement Advocate, Management Analyst

Wanda started the piano at age 6 and later continued formal music education at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico while concurrently seeking her B.A. in Psychology from the University of Puerto Rico. This experience allowed her to introduce the piano and her love of music, dance and art to her children later on. She has a Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from The American University, Washington D.C.

In her arts advocacy role, Wanda served as an Arlington Arts Commissioner from 2010 to 2017, a citizen-based group appointed by the Arlington County Board recommending policies and procedures in grant allocation; and served as board member of Hispanic Theatre Teatro de la Luna from 2008- 2010.

Wanda also serves as Advisory Committee Member of BoricuActivated, non-for profit organization with its primary civic engagement mission to assist average citizen who wants to engage with their elected officials on behalf of Puerto Rico. Wanda has been a management analyst with the US Office of Personnel Management (OPM) for 20 plus years.
