Born in San José, Costa Rica, Melissa is multilingual music educator, violinist, and psychologist with over 15 years of experience in string education and performance. She has a Yamaha Grade 6 certification in Piano Performance, a BA in Psychology and a BA in Violin Performance, both at the University of Costa Rica.
As a music teacher with a psychology background, she specializes in music group teaching methods. Melissa is a certified Yamaha Violin Instructor and worked for approximately three years as a Bornoff Approach teacher training specialist in Latin America.
Melissa is an advocate for music education and passionate about improving the lives of people and empowering them by making music accessible to everyone, especially people living in underserved and vulnerable communities. She loves to travel, and her experiences around the world have given her the ability to work cross-culturally and adapt quickly to new environments.
